THE DRUNKEN CITY

by Adam Bock
Directed by Amy Attaway

Join us for one helluva pub crawl! THE DRUNKEN CITY is Adam Bock's warm take on cold feet, a reminder that we sometimes wake from the American Dream with a hangover.

Marnie is getting married, and her friends take her to the city to celebrate. The city, says Marnie's friend Linda, is "...like a monster ... that cracks open an eye and whispers dark dangerous dark ideas into your ear."

During this night of comic revelry, three women, their boss, and the two strangers they meet have their brittle concepts of marriage, family and happiness challenged by the dark truths the Drunken City tells. Where, then, will their sober hearts lead them?

THE DRUNKEN CITY opened off-Broadway just last year to enthusiastic reviews and was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award.

The New York Sun called DRUNKEN CITY "A lot of fun! Adam Bock's scalpel-sharp insight has made him a potent force on today's theater scene ....Tart, smart and intoxicating."

Louisville audiences will remember Bock's play SHAKER CHAIR, which debuted at the Humana Festival in 2005. THE DRUNKEN CITY features TNT regulars Jeremy Sapp, Leah Roberts, Gil Reyes, Joe Hatfield, Cara Hicks and first-timer Sarah East under the direction of long-time TNT collaborator Amy Attaway.
